Hi,
My name is Lucia Howard and I am the proud owner of EXTRA MILE Event Planning. I decided to start an event planning business because planning events is my PASSION.
In addition to planning corporate events for my employers, I also like to plan my volleyball tournaments in Tulsa area. I’ve played volleyball since I was 13 year old and organizing tournaments for the local community gives me a great deal of SATISFACTION. Needless to say, I have over 5 years of experience planning various events for companies in Oklahoma and Arkansas, as well as planning sporting tournaments.
I was a sole coordinator for numerous CORPORATE EVENTS including health fairs, bowling tournament, holiday corporate parties with games, fundraising events such as the United Way (UW) Campaign, recognition cookouts, team building activities, and many more.
Some of my most successful events are semi-annual company picnic accommodating close to three hundred people for a local 500 Fortune company and annual WinterBall volleyball tournament that hosts close to a hundred athletes (15-17 teams) each year from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.
In addition to my expertise in event planning, I received a graduate degree in INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY from the University of Tulsa. This degree prepared me to be a professional in selecting, training and engaging the current workforce. My educational background and experience as a HR Generalist provided me with necessary skills to consult companies on various BUSINESS MATTERS which include but are not limited to interviewing, developing recognition programs, motivating employees, assuring HR compliance and developing training programs.
